Double Eyelid Surgery Using the Buried Suture Method
The buried suture method creates a double eyelid by inserting threads through small needle holes, without making large incisions in the eyelid skin. The threads are then embedded into the eyelid to form the crease.
There are various techniques depending on the number of threads used and how they are inserted. The most appropriate method is selected based on factors such as the thickness of the eyelid, your desired double eyelid style, and your budget.
At our clinic, we use a special type of thread called Asflex, which has minimal degradation inside the body. We offer two thickness options for the thread, and the suitable one is chosen based on your skin thickness and preferences.
Compared to the incisional method, the buried suture method offers shorter downtime and is more affordable, but the results are not permanent. Over time, the crease may become shallower or disappear altogether.
If the crease fades or disappears, you can undergo the buried suture method again or choose the incisional method for more permanent results.
One of the advantages of the buried suture method is that if the outcome doesn't match your expectations—such as wanting the crease to be wider or narrower—the procedure can be revised or redone after surgery.
