Gynecology

ISEIKAI International General Hospital Obstetrics

Introduction

Our hospital has evolved into a hospital that handles childbirth, an important event in women's life work, within the Iseikai Group. In the space concentrated in the Ladies Center, in order to cover all stages of women's life, obstetrics, gynecology, breast medicine, and female urology will support women's health with the vision of supporting them, and specialized staff from each department will respond.
In obstetrics, we provide the best pregnancy and birth environment for pregnant women and their babies at any time and in any situation, and support a fulfilling postpartum life.

To that end, we are constantly updating medical knowledge and technology that are still evolving, and we strive to work together with doctors, midwives, and other medical staff. We also have a midwifery clinic where we can discuss pregnancy concerns that doctors cannot discuss, as well as concerns about childbirth and child-rearing, with mothers, and provide support to help them feel safe and comfortable during the natural process of childbirth. After childbirth, we have a postpartum care system where midwives provide ongoing support for new mothers in the area, not just those who give birth at our hospital. Please feel free to use this system.

In the gynecology department, we provide standard treatment for benign and malignant diseases (including cervical cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, and other rare diseases such as uterine sarcoma), as well as advanced medical care and the latest treatments for gene mutations, which are at your own expense, with the cooperation of the adjacent Precision Medical Center. In the future, we plan to perform robotic surgery and laparoscopic surgery.

We also aim to improve the depression, insomnia, and other so-called "tiredness" that are common during menopause, and to help women "live happily." In addition, from a preventive medical perspective, we intervene early around the time of menopause and use hormone replacement therapy and alternative therapy to improve aging conditions such as metabolic diseases such as hyperlipidemia, osteoporosis, and skin conditions such as wrinkles and hair loss. In order to "live happily," we provide comprehensive treatment guidance such as drug therapy, exercise therapy, and diet therapy to control the internal brain neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, with the goal of eliminating insomnia, anxiety, and depression, which are so-called mental aging, and spending a fun day in accordance with your traditional lifestyle.

In addition, genital prolapse and urogenital symptoms caused by aging are treated in collaboration with the female urology department.
We believe that the mission of our department is to provide total care for women's health.

Robot-assisted surgery

  1. Benefits of robotic surgery

Since around 2000, laparoscopic total hysterectomy has spread in Japan, and is now a common surgical procedure for diseases that are deemed to be able to be removed from the vagina. On the other hand, robotic surgery in gynecology has been covered by insurance since 2016 and is now performed at general hospitals.
In robotic surgery, several holes are made in the abdomen, just like laparoscopy, and the robot operates the surgical instruments inserted through them. The surgeon operates the surgical instruments using a machine located away from the patient. The surgeon can operate while checking detailed images with stereoscopic vision, which is not available with laparoscopy, so the relative positions of the organs are easier to understand than with laparoscopic surgery.

  2. Target diseases in our department

Uterine fibroids, Adenomyosis → Total hysterectomy

    • Not applicable

For uterine cancer, we plan to start (total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) once the facility is certified. Currently, this cannot be performed.
We are considering performing total hysterectomy and mesh fixation for uterine prolapse in the future.
