About the Postpartum Period

産後ケアサービス

Postpartum Schedule

Day of Delivery
  • Please rest well.
  • Initial breastfeeding guidance will be provided.
  • Antibacterial eye drops will be administered to prevent purulent conjunctivitis.
  • Breastfeeding
Day 1
  • You may take a shower.
  • Mother-and-baby rooming-in guidance will be provided.
  • K2 syrup will be administered to prevent vitamin K deficiency.
  • Body cleansing care will be provided.
Day 2

Baby bathing guidance will be provided.

The baby’s hearing test will be conducted.

Day 3
  • Blood and urine tests will be performed.
  • Baby bathing practice will be provided for those who wish.
  • You may take a bath.
  • The baby’s footprints will be taken.
Day 4
  • A pre-discharge examination will be conducted.
  • Discharge guidance and breast milk expression guidance will be provided.
  • K2 syrup will be administered.
  • Screening tests for congenital metabolic disorders and jaundice blood test will be performed.
Day 5
  • If there are no abnormalities, you will be discharged.
  • A pediatric examination will be conducted.
  • If there are no abnormalities, your baby will be discharged.
The Day Before Surgery
  • You will be admitted to the hospital.
  • You will need to fast after 21:00.
Day of Surgery
  • You will need to stop drinking from 3 hours before surgery.
  • Intravenous infusion will begin.
  • After surgery, bed rest will be required.
  • Depending on your condition, you may be allowed to drink water from 6 hours after surgery.

Initial breastfeeding will begin.

Day 1
  • Blood tests will be performed.
  • We will check whether you are able to walk for the first time.
  • Meals will begin from lunch.
  • K2 syrup will be administered to prevent vitamin K deficiency.
  • Body cleansing care will be provided.
Day 2
  • Mother-and-baby rooming-in guidance will be provided.
  • Depending on your condition, showering may begin.

The baby’s hearing test will be conducted.

Day 3

Please gradually become accustomed to life with your baby.

Day 4

Baby bathing guidance will be provided.

  • K2 syrup will be administered.
  • Screening tests for congenital metabolic disorders and jaundice blood test will be performed.
Day 5
  • Blood and urine tests will be performed.
  • Baby bathing practice will be provided for those who wish.
  • You may take a bath.
  • The baby’s footprints will be taken.
Day 6
  • Discharge guidance and breast milk expression guidance will be provided.
  • A pre-discharge examination will be conducted.
Day 7
  • If there are no abnormalities, you will be discharged.
  • A pediatric examination will be conducted.
  • If there are no abnormalities, your baby will be discharged.

Celebratory Meal

After delivery, a celebratory meal will be served once during your hospital stay.

Checkups

We provide regular checkups for both mothers and babies. In addition to checking your physical condition, please feel free to consult us about any questions or concerns you may have while spending time with your baby.

About the 2-Week Checkup

This checkup is provided approximately one week after discharge for patients who delivered at our hospital. We check the baby’s weight after discharge, as well as childcare, breastfeeding, and family support conditions. We will respond to your concerns and provide support to help ease worries about breastfeeding and childcare.

About the 1-Month Checkup

The 1-month checkup is a regular checkup conducted around one month after childbirth.
Its main purpose is to check the baby’s growth and motor development, as well as the mother’s postpartum recovery.

Important Notes

  • If anyone in your household has had an infectious disease such as measles, chickenpox, or mumps within the past month, please be sure to contact the pediatric outpatient clinic before your visit.
    Please be especially careful if you have older children.
  • Please do not give K2 syrup during the week of the 1-month checkup.
  • Please be sure to contact us if you need to change or cancel your 1-month checkup appointment.

Refresh Yoga

リフレッシュヨガ

Yoga may help relieve uncomfortable symptoms that commonly occur during pregnancy, such as swelling, body heaviness, and lower back pain, through yoga poses and breathing techniques. It may also help relax irritability and emotional instability during pregnancy by improving mental focus.

It will be a time to face your mind and body and slowly feel your baby.

Pregnant patients receiving prenatal checkups at our hospital will receive a coupon code in the Memorial Book for one free Refresh Yoga session. Please feel free to join us.

  • Lesson Time: 50 minutes Every Tuesday 14:30–15:20
  • Fee: JPY 1,650 per session

  • Eligibility: General participants regardless of gender; for maternity participants, pregnant women from 16 weeks onward who are in the stable period, under the guidance of their attending physician, and have no signs of threatened premature labor

Are you concerned about changes in your body after childbirth?

During pregnancy, hormonal effects may loosen the pelvic ligaments and cause pain around the pelvis.In addition, the muscles around the abdomen and pelvis inner unit may be stretched and damaged. Because these pregnancy-related changes can also affect the body after childbirth, appropriate care is important.

For those concerned about decreased physical strength or discomfort after childbirth, or those who wish to work on body remodeling or body maintenance, female physical therapists who have completed specialized training in prenatal and postpartum rehabilitation will provide one-on-one support. The first session is available at a discounted price. Please feel free to try it once.
